Learning, sharing and making our way towards better adult education!

Project partners and adult educators came together at the University of Žilina, Slovakia for our Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) activity within WP3 – Digital Handbook for Game-Based Teaching.

Over two inspiring days, we explored how gamification and game-based learning can make adult education more engaging, practical and motivating.

The training focused on three key areas of our Digital Handbook:

>English language learning

>Digital literacy

>Self-motivation through soft skills

Participants had the opportunity to try out practical activities, discuss different approaches and reflect on how these methods can be transferred into their own teaching practice. The sessions were highly interactive, with plenty of space for questions, sharing experiences and learning from one another.

A particularly important part of the LTT was the evaluation of the Handbook. The participating educators provided valuable feedback on the materials, instructions, usability and practical application. Their insights will help to further improve the Handbook and make sure it becomes a user-friendly, relevant and high-quality resource for adult educators.

We were also happy to offer a hybrid participation opportunity! Two participants from each partner organisation joined online and connected with the LTT group in Žilina. It was an opportunity to present and disseminate the Handbook, allowing them to be part of the discussion even from a distance.

And, of course, learning doesn’t stop when the formal sessions end! In the afternoons, we also enjoyed cultural activities and sightseeing, discovering Žilina and experiencing the local culture. Our “Level Up Together” gamified dinner gave participants the chance to connect, exchange experiences and strengthen the partnership.

The LTT in Žilina is an important step towards our wider goal: creating accessible and innovative resources that help adult educators bring game-based elements into their teaching and support more engaging learning experiences for adults.

A big thank you to everyone who participated, contributed ideas, shared their experience and helped us move the Handbook one step closer to its final version!

Together, we are learning, testing, improving – and levelling up adult education!
